WELCOME TO RICHARD CORBETT BROWN__CHOWCHILLA

Welcome to Richard Corbett Brown Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 9896. We are located at 245 S 5th Street, Chowchilla, CA 93610. Our meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 PM. The Post building has some significant Chowchilla history to it. The building was the original train station built by the railroad in 1923, just south of Robertson Boulevard. As shipping and passenger train use declined in the 1950's, the Southern Pacific Railroad sold the historic building to the VFW Post for just $1. In the early 1960's, the VFW moved the physical depot to its current home on Veterans Boulevard (S. 5th Street). Today, the Post is a gathering place for local Veterans and frequently hosts events, meal services, and community projects.
