The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) is committed to serving not only veterans and their families, but also the communities in which its Posts are located. Through volunteerism, charitable activities, youth programs, civic events, and support for local organizations, the VFW works to strengthen the communities that have supported our nation’s veterans. VFW members regularly give their time and resources to help those in need, promote patriotism, support education, and encourage the next generation to understand and appreciate the sacrifices made by America’s service members.
Community service is an important part of the VFW’s tradition of "Honoring the Dead by Helping the Living.” Whether it is providing assistance to a family in need, supporting local schools and youth activities, participating in community events, helping other veterans, or lending a hand during times of hardship, VFW Posts strive to make a positive difference. Through these efforts, the VFW demonstrates that its commitment to service continues long after a veteran’s military service has ended.
